Vecoplan to Introduce New Mobile Shredding System

I Series to include live floor and increased throughput and payload.

Vecoplan LLC, Archdale, N.C., will soon introduce the New “I” Series VST-32 mobile document and product destruction system. According to a press release from the company, the I Series is based on the field proven reliability of its original VST-32 shred truck and delivers increased surge capacity, throughput and payload.

Each VST-32 I features Vecoplan’s RG32XL single-shaft rotary shredder, which cross-shreds in one pass and can handle everything from documents to bowling balls in one “dump-and-run” operation. With its high-torque, low-speed, auto-reversing Torsion Point™ cutting rotor and its feed ProcessRam™, “the RG32XL provides the highest shredding efficiency, shock-load and impact protection available in a compact, mobile configuration,” according to Vecoplan.

Designed specifically for shredding batches (two 96-gallon containers at a time) of confidential documents, electronic data storage devices and products to a consistent particle size, the RG32XL also allows users to vary the shred size according to particular applications or specifications through a simple, 10-minute change of the output screen.

Vecoplan worked with Navistar International to design the “I” series shred truck chassis and to develop a standardized program that keeps costs down, lead times acceptable and facilitates truck maintenance with national serviceability.

In addition to the many standard features, the truck offers options like GPS tracking and cameras.

Vecoplan uses a Transonite® body by Martin Marietta, which it says allows for the highest payload capacity of any 33,000 GVWR shredding vehicle. Its low-friction interior prevents payload discharge jams.

The VST-32 I provides curb-level bin loading through a combination of the EasyAccess™ hinged composite door and the exclusive lock ‘n load™ automatic lift and dump system developed by Vecoplan in conjunction with Toter® Inc. Vecoplan’s proprietary SureTrac™ “live” gliding floor discharge system facilitates unloading of the shredded payload.

The truck’s seamless interface PTO/Hydraulic Power Generation System is sized and fine-tuned for efficient operation of the entire processing system, according to VecoPlan. A single-station, graphic touch-screen console for operation and monitoring of process functions is located next to the loading station.
