Vecoplan Co-Sponsors Boys and Girls Clubs Benefit

“Shredding for Kids” collects $4,500 for organization.

Archdale, N.C.-based Vecoplan LLC, along with High Point Bank Insurance, co-sponsored the third annual “Shredding for Kids” fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater High Point, N.C. The event raised funds by providing secure document destruction to individuals and small businesses for 50 cents per pound with a $5 minimum donation. In addition to donating two of the company’s VST-42e shred trucks for the day, Vecoplan provided personnel to operate the trucks and help with logistics for the event.

“People are always impressed with how small the shred size is,” says Holly Feree, vice president of development for Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point.

The event was Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011. More than 152 people took part in the program. The one-day event resulted in a total of 9,000 pounds that were shredded. The event resulted in $4,500 in donations.

“Thanks to the folks at Vecoplan, High Point Bank and many wonderful volunteers, this year’s Shredding for Kids was a success,” Thomas Falgout, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater High Point, says.

The funds raised at the event will go to support programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs that benefit more than 1,000 youth in the High Point community.
