Vecoplan LLC of Archdale, N.C., has introduced the ReTech RG78P “Shorty” rotary shredder, which is designed for high-volume document destruction.
The shredder offers cross-cut shreds in a single pass with variable and consistent shred size using interchangeable screens. It can accommodate binders with metal rings, entire security containers and even full bales without pre-processing, according to Vecoplan.
"Shorty" features a high-output “Torsion Point” cutting rotor that measures 25 inches in diameter; employs 62 2.3-inch square, four-way indexable cutter inserts; and is powered by a 150- to 200-hp drive motor.
The shredder's two-speed hydraulic feed ram features a shorter stroke for faster cycle times. It also features a 78-inch-by-78-inch hopper opening with a capacity of 10 to 12 cubic yards.
