VanRosendale Promoted at Tube City

Business development added to VanRosendale’s responsibilities.

Perry VanRosendale has been named senior vice president--operations and business development of Tube City LLC, Glassport, Pa.

According to Tube City president and COO Joseph Curtin, VanRosendale’s responsibilities will include “bottom-line results for Tube City’s six scrap processing plants in the U.S. as well as new and ongoing projects in scrap optimization, scrap handling, and scrap processing.” He will work from the company’s Gary, Ind., office.

The steel and scrap industry veteran joined Tube City in 1991 as vice president operations of the Midwest Division, where he designed and built the company’s scrap processing and handling facility located at U.S. Steel’s Gary works. He has also served in other senior management positions with Tube City over the past 13 years. “There is a big growth opportunity for Tube City in scrap blending and scrap optimization,” VanRosendale says. “I also look forward to working with our sister division, Olympic Mill Service, in coordinating our joint efforts in slag and scrap processing.”

I Michael Coslov, Tube City chairman and CEO, praises VanRosendale as a major company asset. “His combined knowledge of scrap and steel make him an invaluable member of our team. He bridges the gap between brokerage and operations since he understands both sides of the scrap management equation,” Coslov says.

Curtin adds that Van VanRosendale is the key individual creating bid proposals on new scrap management contracts including scrap optimization, Tube City’s proprietary scrap melting chemistry computer program.

VanRosendale was with U.S. Steel for 21 years and was area manager of scrap acquisition and processing at the Gary Works before leaving the corporation to join Tube City.

Tube City LLC provides raw materials and services to steel mills and foundries in North America and Europe. It annually processes and outsource-purchases more than 15 million tons of scrap and generates $600 million in revenue.
