IESI McKinney, McKinney, Texas, has begun operation of its 15-ton-per-hour Bollegraaf single-stream material recovery facility (MRF).
The complete Bollegraaf sorting system, supplied by Van Dyk Baler Corp., Stamford, Conn., features a Lubo OCC (old corrugated container) screen, a Lubo ONP (old newspaper)/French screen and a Lubo fines screen for sorting ONP, OCC, glass, PET (polyethylene terephthalate), colored HDPE (high-density polyethylene), natural HDPE and aluminum and ferrous metals.
IESI custom designed and built North America’s first privately funded Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design- (LEED-) certified MRF, incorporating a classroom and public viewing area for educational purposes.
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison and IESI CEO Mickey Flood participated in the August grand opening ceremony.
