Van Dyk Baler Places Four Bollegraaf Balers

Van Dyk Baler Corp., Stamford, Conn., has announced the installation of four Bollegraaf HBC-180 balers, which were installed in the fall of 2005.

The companies that have installed HBC-180 balers are:

  • Colgate Paper Stock Co. Inc., New Brunswick, N.J., which also added a sorting line;
  • All American Recycling, Patterson, N.J., which also included a perforator; and
  • Waste Management Recycle America, based in Houston, which purchased two HBC-180MR balers and feeding conveyors for its Denver and Milwaukee plants.

According to Van Dyk, the North American distributor of Bollegraaf Recycling Machinery, which is made in the Netherlands, the HBC-180 “is capable of processing a broad spectrum of recycled fibers and containers at a high speed into very dense, homogenous packed bales while using minimum electrical power.”

The HBC-180 baler is equipped with two 125-hp motors and can process up to 40 tons per hour of OCC and up to 80 tons per hour of news and high grades with constant, sufficient feeding, according to a press release from Van Dyk.

The HBC-180MR baler produces bales measuring 3 feet 7 inches by 3 feet 4 inches, while the HBC-180 model produces bales measuring 3 feet 7 inches by 3 feet 7 inches.
