Valens Resources Group Plc has acquired Singh (UK) Ltd., an independent integrated recycling and solid waste management company that operates at three sites in the United Kingdom – March, Peterborough and Whittlesey. The deal was completed Jan. 31, 2011.
Singh’s operations in March and Peterborough are licensed transfer stations and recycling centers, capable of processing up to 100,000 metric tons of material per year. The business has a collection fleet of 25 vehicles.
Valens was incorporated in 2008 as a vehicle to acquire Glazewing and develop a regional presence in East Anglia, U.K.
According to a release, the acquisition is in line with Valens’ strategy of expanding its recycling and waste management activities, while enhancing its metals recycling business. The company hopes to create additional operational capacity to the enlarged group’s collection capability and operating area. Singh will be rebranded to Glazewing in the near future.
