The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group, Trussville, Ala., is conducting its second annual “Castings for a Cure” campaign. During the month of October a portion of all the company’s castings sales will be donated to the American Cancer Society to help provide research funds to treat and cure breast cancer.
The donations will be contributed in honor of company President Bill Tigner’s wife, Carla, a breast cancer survivor.
“We are extremely honored to be able to continue the fight against breast cancer with the help of our customers for a second year,” says Bill Tigner. “We are fortunate that we have three survivors in our family; a result of God’s blessings and remarkable research programs.”
As in 2010, the company has produced an original “2011 Castings for a Cure” casting that will be presented to each customer that contributes. A larger casting will be given to the company that provides the biggest donation.
The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group offers scrap shredders, control systems, downstream systems, nonferrous recovery, air systems, scrap shears, balers, and loggers, as well as shredder castings, service, engineering, construction and installation, to the scrap recyclers around the world.
