The U.S. Shredder and Castings Group, Trussville, Ala., celebrated its fifth anniversary June 1, 2011. When first established, the company sold castings for automobile shredders. Within five months of opening, U.S. Shredder says it sold several complete shredder downstream systems. The company says it now holds a major market share in castings and wear parts as well as in new shredders and nonferrous systems.
U.S. Shredder also has announced the acquisition of a new 160,000-square-foot shredder assembly plant in conjunction with Boltech of Youngstown, Ohio. The facility is U.S. Shredder’s second manufacturing plant. The company shares a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing plant with its sister company U.S Conveyor Technologies in Mackinaw, Ill.
The two companies will host an open house at the new facility in August when it presents its new 7090 shredder model.
