Upstate Shredding-Ben Weitsman & Son, an Owego, N.Y.-based scrap metal company, has announced that Stephen Donnelly is joining the company as director of marketing and public relations, effective March 1, 2011. Donnelly previously worked as a communications consultant for Upstate through his position as president of Dynamic Innovation Group (DIG), a communications company he founded.
“I started working with Stephen back in 2002. Over the years he has proven to be an invaluable team member in helping our companies and related projects set marketing direction and get the media exposure we needed,” says Adam Weitsman, president of Upstate Shredding. “He was spending so much time on our projects, as well as flying back and forth from Colorado (where DIG has an office), it just made sense to both of us that he relocate to Owego and become full-time.”
In accepting the position, Donnelly is stepping down as president of DIG, although he will retain ownership of the company.
“Adam has been one of our best and most successful clients. I have been working with him directly and been intimately involved in many of his business and philanthropic activities. Now I will be able to focus my attention on a full time basis,” says Donnelly.
