UPM-Kymmene Corp. announced plans to build a recycled pulp mill at its Shotton Paper mill in North Wales, UK. When complete, the Shotton paper mill, the largest newsprint mill in the United Kingdom, will produce 100 percent recycled content newsprint.
The new mill will require an additional 320,000 metric tons per year of old newspaper and old magazines, boosting total demand by the mill to 620,000 metric tons a year of recycled fiber.
The mill is expected to be complete by September 2003, with full production by April 2004.
