Untha, an Austrian shredding technology company, has announced its latest product development, the Untha Power Core, a power generator for the operation of its XR and ZR shredders.
According to Untha, the Power Core will provide customers with more flexibility when using an Untha shredder.
“With the help of the Power Core, the XR and ZR shredders can be powered independently without compromising on performance,” Untha Product Manager Markus Eibl says. “We also see the Power Core as a groundbreaker for the electrification of companies, as it facilitates the switch to our purely electric drive systems.”
The Power Core can be used as a rental model until local power infrastructure is available, facilitating a switch to electrically powered shredding solutions. The product also can be used when a shredder needs to be operated in places without a fixed power supply. Untha says the Power Core is suitable for temporary use, such as when a shredder is rented for short-term capacity expansion or live demonstrations.
Untha provides a package consisting of a shredder and a power unit.
The product is tailored to the requirements of the XR and ZR shredders and automatically adjusts its output to the energy requirements of the shredder. Untha says fuel savings between 20 and 25 percent are possible, and the integrated fuel tank provides a 25-hour power supply. An external auxiliary tank can be connected for longer, uninterrupted operation.
The Power Core will be presented to the public with the XR3000RC mobil-e at RecyclingAKTIV in Karlsruhe, Germany, to demonstrate the shredding of wood waste.
