United Fibers, based in Chandler, Ariz., has announced the acquisition of AbiBow Recycling’s Paper Retriever Program in Arizona. The collection program is used by schools, non-profits and businesses. The paper collected through the Paper Retriever program will be used to make United Fiber’s cellulose insulation product.
In announcing the acquisition, United Fibers says it plans to expand the program throughout Maricopa County, Ariz., as part of its Green Depot Campaign, specifically targeting Phoenix, Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Apache Junction and Casa Grande.
“We welcome this outstanding program and staff to the United Fibers family,” says Mike Kean, United Fiber’s general manager. “This acquisition is part of our broader vision to promote recycling in support of our own green manufacturing initiatives. The addition of this business provides a consistent stream of recyclable materials and furthers our overall mission.”
