Unisphere Waste Conversion Ltd. announced that the company has signed a one-year contract with Tri City Services in Guelph, Ontario. Tri City Services is a large scrap tire collection and processing operations in Ontario.
Unisphere will locate one its mobile Columbus McKinnon shredders at Tri City Services, shredding radial truck tires producing a 2" by 2" tire shred. This initial contract will generate revenues of about $1 million, and the company has an option to renew for a further twelve months
Unisphere also recently commissioned an additional shredder at Chatham Rubber Manufacturing in Chatham, Ontario. This shredder will process passenger and light truck tires to meet the growing demand for TDF (Tire Derived Fuel) in New York and Michigan markets.
The Ontario scrap tire market is currently processing less than 50 percent of the 14 million passenger tire equivalents generated a year in Ontario.
