U.K. Shredding Group Secures Partnership with Robert Horne Group

All collected paper will be handled by RHG’s Yoyo division.

The Shredding Alliance (TSA), Sheffield, U.K., has secured a partnership with Robert Horne Group’s (RHG’s) closed-loop paper recycling service called Yoyo. RHG is a supplier of paper, board and plastics that operates throughout the United Kingdom. According to a TSA press release, RHG has designed Yoyo to ensure customers' confidential papers are disposed of in compliance with the U.K.’s Data Protection Act .

Under the signed agreement, all TSA members will return confidential paper collected to Yoyo’s fiber banks. TSA will provide a collection service from customers' premises, secure destruction of confidential paper either via on-site or off-site shredding and a guarantee that Yoyo-sourced paper is returned to the fiber bank where it will be recycled back into paper.

Tony Browne, RHG sustainability and development director, says, “There are a number of clear synergies between TSA and Yoyo that make this partnership extremely exciting for us, including the commitment to the environment and our customers, combined with an unstoppable energy for growth. By creating a partnership with TSA, we not only have a premier closed-loop paper recycling offer, but one that simultaneously guarantees the security of our customers' confidential waste paper and reduces their impact on the environment.”
Browne adds, “What appealed to me most about partnering with TSA was that it provides nationwide coverage via a single source agreement and its shredding services are delivered by well-established independent owner managed companies, so there is the ability to be completely flexible and customer orientated.”
Daniel Hawtin, TSA managing director, says, "The partnership represents the cohesion of two very like-minded companies. We are forecasting that we will handle well in excess of 1,500 metric tons of confidential waste in the first year, but with the energy and commitment to grow we can easily exceed this level.”
He adds, "Furthermore, it also allows us to offer our customers the chance to reduce their environmental impact by using yoyo's closed loop recycling service.”
