The scrap metal recycling firm
Metal Interests Ltd., Chichester, U.K., has received The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade Category. The company was the only recycling company that received the award for 2011.
In a statement made after receiving the award, Metal Interests said, “This is a great honor and a prestigious endorsement of our trading activities and sustained export growth over the past three years, recognizing the enormous amount of work and commitment shown by our entire workforce.”
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are given out annually to U.K. businesses in three different categories: Innovation, International Trade and Sustainable Development.
In the International Trade and Sustainable Development category, a company needs to demonstrate that its business achieved substantial growth in overseas earnings and in commercial success. The levels must be considered 'outstanding' for the company’s relative business size and business sector.
