UK Group Revamps Aggregate Recycling Site

WRAP improves aggregates recycling web site.

Responding to user feedback, AggRegain, the sustainable aggregates information service has been revamped. The Waste & Resources Action Programme, developer of the program, hopes that the new site will be easier to use, while providing clear information to specifiers, contractors and local authorities on the use of recycled and secondary aggregates.

AggRegain will continue to provide users with detailed information on where recycled and secondary aggregates meet the specifications for a wide range of applications. These are backed up by a number of case studies that users have found to be especially valuable in providing real evidence of the cost and performance benefits of using these materials.

The next phase of AggRegain development will see significant expansion of the site content, making a much broader range of information available to all parts of the construction supply chain to assist and promote greater supply and use of recycled and secondary aggregates.

A series of interlinked ‘modules’ is being developed, each aimed at a different aspect of the sourcing, reprocessing, quality assurance, procurement and application of recycled and secondary aggregates, so that it delivers information of interest and practical value to users. The Specifier tool and Case Studies database will also be developed further to reinforce their already proven value. This work will be phased over the next 6 to 9 months, with a continual improvement of the content over this period.

The development of the Aggregain site has been based around user feedback, which will continue to be key to its success . WRAP is strongly encouraging further feedback on this initial re-design, as well as the proposed development plan. Views and recommendations can be submitted via the feedback form on the site. The web site is www.aggregain.org.uk.
