The United Kingdom’s Environment Agency has authorized the spending of 250,000 pounds (US$480,000) to increase the level of refrigerator recycling in Manchester, England.
There are around 100,000 refrigerators needing to be processed for safe disposal at four sites in the city after the company that was to process them closed down.
The Environment Agency has been working with a number of other groups to establish a clean up procedure for the four sites.
