Tube City IMS Corp. has announced that its Tube City IMS U.K. operation, based in Scunthorpe, England, has received the “Outstanding Achievement in Safety Award” from the North Lincolnshire Health & Safety Group.
The award recognizes companies that excel in safety performance. The award was presented by the group at its annual awards ceremony in Scunthorpe in late February.
According to a release, Tube City IMS U.K. has won the “Safety Achievement Award” every year since 2005, but this is the first time the company was singled out for the “Outstanding Achievement in Safety Award.”
Marco Gravina, general manager, Tube City IMS UK; and Don Jowett, environmental, safety and quality manager, Tube City IMS UK, were presented with a solid silver trophy to display for the next 12 months, along with a permanent glass trophy.
The company provides support services to the steel industry in the Scunthorpe area.
