Tube City IMS LLC has opened its first representative trading office in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan.
J. David Aronson, president and COO, Raw Material and Optimization Group, Tube City IMS, said Taiwan is an increasingly important market in the Asia-Pacific region.
“We continue to expand our global footprint and believe the outsourced steel services market in Taiwan will continue to grow over the coming years,” Aronson said. “The opening of this office complements our offices in Beijing, China, Jakarta, Indonesia, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and our operating subsidiary in Singapore, and provides the company with an excellent platform to grow our presence and serve our customers in the region.”
Kenny Hung will head up the new office as chief representative. Prior to joining Tube City, Hung worked at an Asian trading company specializing in steel products.
“Kenny is an experienced trader and we are pleased to welcome him to the team,” Aronson said. “Kenny will report directly to Hideyuki Nishizawa, managing director of Asia, who is responsible for developing, managing and expanding the company’s Asian trading operations from the Singapore trading office.”
