Tube City IMS Corp. announced that a number of its facilities received safety awards from the National Slag Association during the association’s annual meeting last week. The company received a total of 24 safety awards from the NSA.
The company's Mingo Junction, OH, operation received three NSA awards -- "Most Improved Job Sites for Safety," "Job Sites with at Least 200,000
Hours Since the Last Recordable Accident" and "Lowest Incident Rate, 76+ Employees."
Operations in Beaumont, TX, and Monessen, PA, each picked up two safety awards -- "Job Sites with at Least 200,000 Hours since the Last Recordable Accident" and "Lowest Incident Rate, 11-50 Employees."
IMS Division sites in Bridgeville, PA; Johnstown, PA; Parkersburg, PA; Cuyahoga Heights, OH; Jackson, MI; Longview, TX; and Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada, each received an award for "Lowest Incident Rate, 1-10 Employees."
The Company's operations in Auburn, NY; Cartersville, GA: Kankakee, IL; McMinnville, OR; Midland, PA; Monroe, MI; Sand Springs, OK; and Saukville, WI, each received an award for "Lowest Incident Rate, 11-50 Employees." The Cayce, SC, operation received an award for "Lowest Incident Rate, 51-75 Employees."
In addition, David Moore, Shift Foreman, at the Company's Braddock, PA, operation received an award for his safety slogan, "The Safe Way or No Way." The NSA selected Moore's slogan from 176 entries to be its 2007 safety slogan.
