Texas Shredder Inc., in cooperation with Resource Recycling, LLC, has sold the first third generation Steinert ISS unit to Davis Industries, Lorton, VA.
The Induction Sorting System is designed to recover the non-ferrous materials and stainless steel from the trash stream of the Eddy Current system. This is accomplished with specially designed sensors that recognize the metals and activate air jets that “pop” the metals from the trash stream.
The ISS will eliminate the need for manual picking, and increase the non-ferrous metals recovered.
The purchase of the ISS unit by Davis Industries adds to their growing list of state of the art equipment, which includes a 80/104 TSI Dual Discharge Shredding system, Alstom 3000 hp 500 rpm shredder duty motor, Harris HRB Baler, 1700 ton Venzanni Shear, and Steinert Eddy Current system.
The ISS unit is expected to be operational by the end of the first quarter of 2003.
