Trex Company, Inc., a company that takes plastic and waste wood and recycles them into decking material, won first place in the Virginia Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards for "Outstanding Environmental Projects" in the Smaller Manufacturer's category.
Last year the company used close to 200 million pounds of recycled and reclaimed plastic from grocery bags and pallet wrap. The company also used a similar amount of waste wood to make its product.
Trex’s product is used throughout the United States for residential decks, as well as commercial projects such as boardwalks, nature trails, marinas and playgrounds.Latest from Recycling Today
