Columbus, Indiana-based Toyota Material Handling North America (TMHNA) has expanded its forklift battery portfolio with the introduction of its new Toyota 5/35 line of lithium-ion batteries.
The batteries are configured to work with both the Toyota and Raymond lift truck brands and have been designed to provide a "maintenance-free, cost-effective power source,” according to THMNA.
“The launch of this new lithium-ion battery product line underscores Toyota’s commitment to making energy efficiency more accessible and supporting our customers with innovative energy solutions that increase operational performance,” says Damon Hosmer, TMHNA general manager of energy solutions.
“These new solutions allow customers to reduce operational complexity, ultimately improving their bottom line and benefiting from Toyota’s renowned reliability."
The 5/35 battery is available in 24-volt, 36-volt and 48-volt power capacities and have been designed to operate with high performance in both hot and cold environments. The batteries feature dual A320 charge ports designed to offer ergonomic access and single- or dual-charger compatibility.
Toyota says its own lithium-ion chargers are fully compatible with the new 5/35 batteries, offering full integration with the batteries’ onboard Battery Management System to ensure seamless communication and charging efficiency.
The chargers support voltage ranging from 24 to 48 volts and current outputs to meet the needs of a customer’s specific material handling operation, according to TMHNA.
The 5/35 batteries deliver charging times as fast as one hour using dual-cable fast chargers. They also include and a warranty cycle life up to 5,000 cycles.
“These batteries offer long-term, low maintenance forklift power solutions that increase uptime and reduce operational costs, providing heightened efficiency and productivity," the company says.
“Backed by Toyota Material Handling North America innovation, Toyota as a brand continues to lead by delivering complete and reliable material handling solutions that optimize operations and drive results for our customers," Hosmer adds. "The introduction of this new lithium-ion energy solution line underscores and provides further proof of this commitment.”
