For the fourth consecutive year, Japanese-based Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) has been recognized by global business leaders as one of the world’s 50 most admired companies, according to a new survey published by Fortune magazine.
Number 46 on this year’s list, TICO took over the number one ranking in the industry segment Motor Vehicle Parts, according to the survey. TICO moved up from its previous number two position, winning high marks for its quality of products and services, quality of management, financial soundness, global competitiveness, people management and its value as a long-term investment.
This year’s Fortune list of the world’s most admired companies is based on a survey of more than 4,000 executives, directors and securities analysts. A total of 689 companies from 28 countries were surveyed.
In addition to its automotive-related business, TICO is the one of the world’s leaders in materials handling equipment, with these activities centralized within its Toyota Material Handling Group (TMHG). Toyota Material Handling Europe (TMHE) is the European regional organization of TMHG.
