Tomra of North America, a Shelton, Conn.-based subsidiary of Norway’s Tomra Systems ASA, has introduced the T63 TriSort, a reverse vending machine (RVM) the company says is ideal for small grocers, convenience stores, liquor/package stores and other retailers with limited floor space.
The smaller machine takes up less square footage while offering what Tomra calls “the most advanced collection, compaction, storage and fraud protection [technology] available on the market today.”
“For stores that don’t have the space, or capacity, to support multiple RVMs, the T63 TriSort offers the most modern, high capacity and efficient platform for beverage container recycling,” says Debbie Hall, senior vice president of sales for Tomra. “The T63 TriSort is capable of capturing aluminum, plastic and glass containers at a rate of 30 containers per minute. All materials are compacted and stored in separate compartments to maximize storage capacity.”
The machine is designed for consumers to drop their recyclables into the receptacle provided. The machine will then produce a receipt that the consumer can bring inside the store for cash redemption. The T63 TriSort also can print coupons and other incentives to prompt recycling customers to spend more inside the store, according to Tomra.
With operations in nearly 50 countries, Tomra provides automated recycling machines for empty beverage containers; pickup, transportation and processing services; and materials sorting and compaction equipment. More information on Tomra of North America can be found at www.tomra.com.
