Tomra of North America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tomra Systems ASA, announced that Yale-New Haven Hospital (Connecticut) will deploy their first wave of UNO reverse vending machines in the hospital to collect and sort used beverage containers. The machines will be placed throughout the facility to capture recyclables.
“The hospital’s facilities management team worked with us to find a solution that not only solves its in-house recycling challenges, but also shows the community that they are committed to sustainability initiatives that promote cleanliness and environmentally responsible practices in the community,” says Warren Stoll, Tomra’s VP of Marketing and Business Development. “TOMRA’s reverse vending machines and health care facilities are natural partners in this effort.”
RVMs automate the process of collecting and sorting recyclables. Tomra notes that the machines are effective in high-traffic areas.
