Germany-based TOMRA Sorting Recycling has launched the new Autosort Flake sorter, featuring simultaneous triple-sorting capability, through the product website, www.upgrade-your-flake.com, 7 December 2015.
The company says the product launch was originally planned to take place at the Plastics Recycling Show (PRS) in Brussels 25-26 November 2015 but was switched to a digital campaign because of that event's cancellation in light of the security alert in Brussels.
Promising to herald a new era of high-precision sorting, the Autosort Flake combines color detection and enhanced material information to maximize the recovery of high-quality recycled products which discerning markets now demand.
The company says Autosort Flake has been released at a time when the rPET (recycled polyethylene terephtalete) plastics market focus is shifting toward premium rates for high-grade outputs. As such, the technology offers precision analysis and sorting of waste-stream flakes by color and material at the same time, the company says.
According to TOMRA, the Autosort Flake’s next-generation sensor technology also detects metal. The company also says that its twin-processing mode offers customers the best possible waste throughput along with a constant high-caliber output, all from one machine.
