Oslo, Norway-based Titech Group, a developer and manufacturer of sensor-based sorting equipment, has changed its name to Tomra Sorting Solutions. According to a news release, the move unites the company’s three sensor-based sorting and processing technology brands: recycling specialist Titech, mining specialist CommodasUltrasort and international food processing specialist Odenberg.
The news release adds that the move strengthens the company’s position in sensor-based sorting technology. By rebranding, Tomra Sorting Solutions says the company will be able to more easily link the brands more visibly to its parent company, Tomra Systems ASA.

In related news, Tomra of North America Inc., has announced that the Tomra Group has pulled together all of its subsidiaries together under one brand name.
During the transformation process, the various companies will be gathered within two business areas: Collection Solutions, consisting of Reverse Vending (Tomra), will be headed by Håkon Volldal; Compaction (Orwak), which will be headed by Stefan Ek; and Sorting Solutions, comprised of Recycling (Titech), Mining (CommodasUltrasort) and Food (Odenberg), will be headed by Rune Marthinussen.
“Tomra has been a leader in resource optimization for four decades, but at no time has our leadership in creating a sustainable economy been more critical than it is right now. Until now, Tomra has been organized as a collection of entities operating under different brand names—but still working for the same cause. We are now gathering in a united mission and vision to position TOMRA for further growth and a greater impact worldwide,” says Ranstrand.
He adds, “Tomra’s purpose is to create sensor-based solutions for optimal resource productivity, making sustainability profitable—with increased relevance and meaning. While the names of our daughter brands will change over time, our innovative technology, outstanding service and impeccable quality will not. Through new partnerships, additional business streams and constant innovation, TOMRA will continue to evolve and thrive."
