The equipment company TITECH, headquartered in Norway, has announced its arrival to the Brazilian market during the 13th FIMAI and SIMAI (Feira e Seminário Internacional e Meio Ambiente Industrial e Sustentabilidade) event held Nov. 8-10 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. FIMAI is a Latin American fair that targets the environment and sustainability sectors.
TITECH says it currently has a 60 percent market share in the segment of sensor-based sorting of waste worldwide with a presence in more than 35 countries.
According to the company, during the event TITECH demonstrates its sorting technology, which is a shortened version of the sensor-based technology that sorts recyclable material, in an automated manner, based on criteria defined in advance.
"After two years of market research, we believe that Brazil is ready to receive and deploy this sorting technology for recyclable waste. We want to offer the possibility to recycle more and better; this gives value to the public sector, and to the private sector. Especially with the new regulations of the Public Policy of Solid Waste, we will help add value to the processes of waste disposal," says Carlos Manchado, director of the Iberian Peninsula (Spain and Portugal) and Latin America.
"We started to approach collection and reclamation of waste as well as street cleaning companies, local governments and industry associations, and also the Ministry of the Environment," says Carina Arita, sales manager at TITECH in Brazil.
Today, with an office based in Sao Paulo, the company has technical support in the form of a partnership with Tecborde, located in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The company's plans are to expand this support network when the first machines are installed in the country.
