The Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet is accepting grant proposals for projects that promote the recycling and reuse of scrap tires.
To a limited degree, the cabinet will consider funding research and development proposals for experimental practices or technologies.
Total funding for all projects for this year for the grant program is $300,000.
Applications must be received by COB on February 1, 2010 at the Division of Waste Management’s central office in Frankfort. The application and any supporting documentation must be submitted in order for the application to be complete.
For more information, contact Lisa Evans, Division of Waste Management, 200 Fair Oaks, 2nd Floor, Frankfort KY 40601, (502) 564-6716, e-mail Lisa.Evans@ky.gov. Information is online at www.waste.ky.gov.
Grant funding comes from the Waste Tire Trust Fund, an endowment established in 1998 by the Kentucky General Assembly to receive fees collected from new tire sales.
