All States Tire Recycling Corp. is expected to begin operations in the Bens Run Industrial Park in Tyler Park, W.V. The company, headquartered in Philadelphia, has been working with representatives from the county, as well as state, to receive proper permitting to operate a tire recycling operation in the industrial park.
The tire recycling plant will produce rubber chips for the Allegheny Power plant in Willow Island, Pleasants County.
The Tyler County plant will process old car and truck tires into one-inch or smaller chips for Allegheny Power.
A Class B license will allow All State to process up to 9,999 tons of material a month. The company has indicated it plans to eventually produce end use products, according to local press reports.
All State is joining two other tenants in the industrial park along West Virginia Route 2 and the Ohio River.
One, Proviron America provides contract chemical manufacturing services to local and international chemical companies, while the other, Resource Recovery, is an aluminum recycler.
The industrial park has been able to attract businesses to the site partly due to a $1.6 million grant from the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The West Virginia State JournalLatest from Recycling Today
