TieTek, a manufacturer of composite crossties, has announced that the New York City Transit MTA has signed a contract to purchase and install 11,000 composite crossties. The city agency will test the crossties on yard turnouts and track panels.
TieTek, a wholly owned subsidiary of NATK, engineers and produces high- performance railroad ties through the use of recycled plastic, used tires and other mineral fillers.
