North American Technologies Group Inc., based in Indiana, has announced that its subsidiary TieTek LLC has recently secured an order for 60,000 composite crossties from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad (BNSF).
“We expect the BNSF order will utilize existing capacity through the second quarter of 2006, including production from our Houston facility that is back on line after repairs of fire damage suffered earlier this year,” Dan Brink, TieTek director of marketing, says. “Our Union Pacific Railroad supply agreement, combined with this order, positions TieTek to consider an expansion of capacity in 2006.”
TieTek makes composite railroad crossties from recycled plastics and scrap tires.
