The assets of the Austin, Tex., operations of Schupan Aluminum Sales have been acquired by Copper and Brass Sales, a unit of German conglomerate ThyssenKrupp AG.
Schupan and Sons Inc., based in Kalamazoo, Mich., will continue to operate without its Schupan Aluminum Sales office in Austin, with all of the company's Texas clients being transferred to Copper and Brass.
Before the deal, Southfield, Mich.-based Copper and Brass didn't have operations in Texas. The move will allow the company to offer aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel and processing services throughout Texas.
"This purchase offers our company an exciting strategic opportunity," says William Sabol, president of Copper and Brass Sales.
Copper and Brass Sales is part of ThyssenKrupp Materials NA Inc., a materials management and service company that focuses on processing and distribution of aluminum, copper, brass, specialty metals, steel and plastics.
