The Switzerland-based Thommen Group has added Kilian Schwaiger, former managing director of the German nonferrous metals recycling association VDM, to its corporate staff.
Thommen Group credits Schwaiger, who will join its staff in January, for playing a key role in the merger of VDM with the steel recycling-oriented BDSV association of Germany, which the Swiss company calls “a milestone for the metal recycling sector.”
“With Kilian Schwaiger, we are welcoming a strong leader who will reinforce our market position and accelerate our international development,” Thommen Group CEO Pouyan Dardashti says.
Thommen Group operates from 30 sites in five nations through its three brands: Thommen, Metallum and Immark. While Thommen focuses on the recycling of metals and other materials within Switzerland, Immark focuses on obsolete electronics in Switzerland and Metallum is involved in the international trade of primary, secondary and recycled metals from locations in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Italy and a representative office in Shanghai.
“Thommen Group offers me the opportunity to apply my experience in an entrepreneurial environment. I look forward to working with the team to help shape the future of the circular economy," Schwaiger says.
