Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Analyzer Wins R&D 100 Award

Award is the third for their Niton series of analyzers.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has been awarded the prestigious R&D 100 Award for technological innovation for its Thermo Scientific Niton XL3t Analyzer.

The R&D 100 awards are presented annually to the 100 most innovative new technical products and processes of the year. More than 50 outside professionals are chosen as judges for the awards and their input is carefully considered before the R&D Magazine’s editorial staff makes final decisions.

The R&D 100 award is the third for the Niton series, which also won awards in 1995 and 2003.

"The fact that we continue to receive awards for Niton analyzers as the series evolves technologically is a clear indication that Thermo Fisher Scientific’s continued investment in research and development is striking the right chord in the marketplace,” says John Shein, Thermo Fisher’s director of global marketing for the Niton Analyzers business unit.

Thermo Scientific Niton XL3 Series XRF analyzers use 80 MHz ASICS digital signal processors and embedded processors for computation, data storage, communications and other functions.
