Singapore-based electronics and battery recycling firm TES says it is expanding its United States operations by adding a facility in Las Vegas—it’s fourth in the U.S. The other TES facilities are in in Atlanta, Seattle and Fredericksburg, Virginia.
The company says its new Las Vegas facility positions it closer to its U.S. client base on the West Coast, “further minimizing logistics costs and emissions” for those customers and itself. The new location is the 43rd globally for TES, which earlier this year was acquired by South Korea-based SK ecoplant.
The company says, “Continuing with the growth already seen in the Asia-Pacific and Europe, the Las Vegas facility will expand TES’s overall processing capacity and deliver a full suite of IT asset disposition (ITAD) services to support the technology giants on the West Coast.”
The 40,000-square foot facility is anticipated to open in January of 2023. It will offer onsite data destruction, data center decommissioning, and the redeployment or resale of parts and assets, including testing, grading, repairing refurbishment and recycling, TES says.
The latest TES facility investment brings it to nearly $10 million in ITAD infrastructure at its North American facilities over the previous five years, the firm adds.
“As we grow, we must ensure that we continue to closely meet the needs of our customers, not just by offering superior IT life cycle solutions but also by ensuring that these solutions are combined with the best sustainability-based outcomes for those assets,” TES Chief Commercial Officer Eric Ingebretsen says.
TES CEO Gary Steele says, “This investment backs that commitment by providing best-in-class full life cycle solutions where our clients are located, backed by a global support network.”
