The MHL464 log handler is designed to optimize the balance between high productivity and quick maneuverability at the yard, the company says. The rear boom positioning on the handler’s upper carriage maximizes lift and reach capabilities without the need for outrigger stabilizers.
The 84,878-pound log handler delivers a standard reach of 36 feet. Inverted hydraulic lifting cylinders mounted on the machine’s 26.9-foot box-type boom minimize exposure to debris and moisture to reduce maintenance and maximize machine uptime, according to a company press release. Its 15.4-foot dipperstick can be equipped with up to a 3.8- square yard grab.
With a maximum 30-degree steering angle, the machine delivers a tight, 19.6-foot turning radius. A hydrostatic travel drive system coupled with a two-speed power-shift drive gear offers travel speeds of up to 3.7 miles per hour in low and up to 12 miles per hour in high.
The MHL460 log handler features a wide undercarriage design with four large outriggers and stabilizer support beams to maximize lift capacities and productivity, the company says.
With a 221-horsepower turbocharged diesel engine, the MHL460 is capable of towing fully loaded trailers around the yard. The hydrostatic drive system offers first and second gear travel speeds of up to 3.7 miles per hour and 12.4 miles per hour, respectively.
The MHL460 can be equipped with three reach lengths – 41 foot, 44.3 foot or 49.2 foot. A variety of logging grabs can be fitted to the dipperstick, offering up to a 2.2-square yard capacity.
Additional features include four-point outriggers with individual control, limited slip axles, maximum 169-gallon per minute hydraulic capacity and pneumatic four-fold, 20.5 R25 tires.
