Technology Conservation Group (TCG), based in Lecanto, Fla., is hosting electronics recycling events at its seven facilities around the world in observance of Earth Day.
TCG also will host a online pledge inciting visitors to make a commitment to adopt earth-friendly activities such as recycling. The pledge can be found at www.tcgrecycling.com/earthday.
As part of the initiative, residents and businesses in Florida’s Citrus, Marion and Levy counties are invited to drop off their used computers and other electronic items, free of charge, at the company’s corporate headquarters at 705 South Easy St. in Lecanto, April 23-27th between noon and 4 p.m., and Saturday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Hamilton Rice, president of TCG, says, “We feel strongly about educating the community about the benefits of properly disposing of electronic equipment they no longer want or need. We all want a healthy environment, and recycling is critical to reaching that goal. Hosting take-back events in all of our facilities is one small way we can support the surrounding communities in that effort.” He adds, “We sincerely hope that residents and businesses alike will gather their old or unused equipment and drop it off with us instead of adding it to their trash.”
TCG will accept the following items: desktop and laptop computers, CRT and LCD monitors, hard drives, modems, electronic storage devices, printers, scanners, copiers, telecommunications equipment, fax machines, digital cameras, power backups, power transformers, cables, circuit boards, video game systems, DVD players, VCRs, most industrial scrap, and most commercial equipment.
Stoves, microwave ovens, washers, dryers and refrigerators will not be accepted.
Founded in 1996, Technology Conservation Group specializes in asset disposition and recycling of commodities recovered from electronics and electronic components. The company serves an international customer base through its facilities throughout North America, Mexico, United Kingdom, Israel and India.
