The Taiwanese Ministry of Economic Affairs is considering halting exports of domestic scrap paper amid hikes in international raw material prices, the Economic Daily News reported, citing the economic affairs minister, Steve Chen.
As reported in AFX Asia, the measures would be aimed at securing supplies as well as stabilizing the price of scrap paper for the (Taiwan) domestic paper industry.
The economic affairs ministry will have discussions with domestic scrap paper suppliers on the export restriction measures to be taken, the newspaper added reported.
