The Solid Waste Association of North America is offering several of its certification and training courses April 12-14 in Reno, Nev.
Among the certification courses being offered are:
• Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO): Three-Day Certification Course
The course is designed by SWANA to cover efficient landfill operations, including discussions about issues surrounding landfill site restrictions, compliance with design requirements and what to consider when planning, operating and closing landfills.
• Managing MSW Collection Systems: Three-Day Certification Course
The course is intended for anyone interested in understanding the key elements in the planning, management and operations of residential solid waste and recyclable collection services. The course includes a discussion of state-of-the-art technology and best practices as reported in the literature and field.
• Managing Recycling Systems: Three-Day Certification Course
This course has been designed by SWANA to increase the attendee’s knowledge and skills in planning, developing, marketing, funding, contracting and managing recycling programs including collection, processing, end-use standards application and protection of human health and the environment.
