The Solid Waste Association of North America began developing an association policy on product stewardship and producer responsibility for reuse, recycling and disposal of products subject to special handling requirements under federal, state or provincial regulations.

SWANA’s International board of directors directed the development at its mid-year meeting, held early June. The group has been asked to bring the policy to the board for approval at SWANA’s annual meeting this October.
