SWANA, Silver Spring, Md., is a co-sponsor of the 2003 Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) National Meeting, Aug. 12_15, 2003, at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. Hosted by the EPA, the meeting is intended to discover new ways to conserve natural resources through waste reduction and energy recovery programs.
“SWANA is pleased to support the Resource Conservation Challenge and co-sponsor the 2003 RCRA National Meeting. Being a co-sponsor is a natural tie-in to SWANA’s goals of education, research and development. The meeting also allows for the exchange of information between the entire solid waste field at large,” Dr. John Skinner, SWANA’s executive director and CEO, says. Skinner will speak at the event.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Putting Resource Conservation into RCRA.” The conference includes a comprehensive and diverse array of over 50 sessions held over 3 ½ days. The event is an opportunity to interact with experts and take part in discussions on such pertinent topics as; fuel cells, RCRA policies, waste minimization, environmental justice, brownfields, municipal solid waste, production stewardship and more.
