Honolulu, Hawaii-based Crazy Shirts has introduced an “Eco” Board Shorts collection made with fabric woven from recycled polyethylene teraphthalate (PET) plastic bottles.
The line of PET fiber clothing is available at retail locations throughout Hawaii and online at www.CrazyShirts.com.
“Crazy Shirts’ ‘Eco’ Board Shorts collection allows our fans to stay environmentally-friendly and in-style at the same time,” says Mark Hollander, president and CEO of Crazy Shirts. “Crazy Shirts has always been committed to preserving our planet, from our use of water-soluble inks to our naturally cooled Hawaii manufacturing plant to our pioneering use of LED lighting in our retail locations. The Eco line was a natural, no pun intended, extension for Crazy Shirts.”
Each pair of Eco Board Shorts is made from roughly seven 16-ounce bottles, says the company.
Founded in 1964, Crazy Shirts has long been designing, manufacturing and selling T-shirts on the islands. Housing what it calls the largest printing facility in Hawaii and employing more than 350 people, the company operates retail stores throughout the Aloha State as well as stores in California, Nevada, South Carolina and Florida.
