Superior Industries Offers New Feed System

A new modular feed system, offered by Morris, Minn.-based Superior Industries, delivers multi-application use and cost-cutting, one-load portability that results in significantly reduced freight costs. This new modular feed system is engineered with three 9’ x 14’ hoppers that can be separated for different applications. Its removable axle assembly and removable fifth wheel hitch are interchangeable, allowing the end user to move several feed systems with one axle and one hitch. The system incorporates three 24” x 70’ Superior Industries Stackable Conveyors which do not require supports while in operation and can easily load on top of the system for transport.

Engineered for optimum durability and convenience, each of the three 9’ x 14’ hoppers is constructed of ¼” plate. They include adjustable flow gates and, importantly, removable hopper extensions that prevent product contamination. The carrier features two axles with eight 11-22.5 bias ply tires on Budd wheels. Twelve adjustable-height legs support the hoppers while separated.

Each of the three Stackable Conveyors is designed with a mainframe construction that utilizes an 8” formed channel with 3” x 2” steel tubing uprights and a 4”x 2” steel tubing chord. Other Stackable Conveyor features include a 15 HP head-end drive, a Dodge

TXT 4-shaft mount gear reducer, a 15 HP 1800-RPM TEFC motor, a V-belt drive with guard mount, a 16” diameter crown-faced herringbone lagged-drum drive pulley, a 14” diameter crown-faced wing-type tail pulley, and more.
