Schupan & Sons Inc., headquartered in Kalamazoo, Michigan, has added Wenceslao (Lao) Manzano Hernandez as a trader in its Materials Trading division. Wenceslao began his employment with the company Aug. 31 and is based out of Japan.
“Schupan as a whole, and specifically its Materials Trading division, has experienced tremendous growth in recent years,” Andy McKee, president of Schupan Materials Trading, says. “Lao’s addition to our team is a strategic decision and a natural evolution of our developing global and national partnerships. His multilingual capabilities and global alliances reflect Schupan’s commitment to being the best trading partner in the industry.”
Lao joins Schupan & Son with 10 years of metals industry experience, most recently with Hanwa Co. Ltd., a leading Japanese global trading company. During his tenure with Hanwa, Lao specialized in the global trade of aluminum, copper, precious metals, lead and zinc. His knowledge and expertise in the industry will benefit consumers and suppliers alike while contributing to the global growth of Schupan Materials Trading, the company says.
“Lao is a tremendous addition to our Materials Trading team as he brings a deep understanding of the global trading market,” Schupan & Sons CEO Marc Schupan says. “Lao’s background will accelerate Schupan Materials Trading’s tactical growth across the globe while complementing our culture of innovation, partnership and hard work. We are fortunate to have him on our team!”
