Stradacona Paper announced plans to invest $18.5 million at its Quebec City,Que., facilities. The investment will boost deinked pulp capacity by around 30 percent.
According to Andre Sarasin, president and CEO of Stradacona, the investment will increase production of deinked pulp from 500 metric tons per day to 650 metric tons per day.
"Obviously, we are directly contributing to the conservation of the environment. The mere fact that we use recycled paper for the production of our de-inked pulp reduces our dependence on forest-based fiber and thus ensures sustainable development. In these and other ways, we are continuing to respond to social concerns in the area of recycling and recuperation", said Sarasin.
Stradacona will begin installation of a drum pulper later this month.Latest from Recycling Today
