Stora Enso announced plans to sell its Moelndal mill to Klippan AB, a Swedish specialty paper company. The divestment is part of the Fine Paper division's asset restructuring program to concentrate investment in large, cost-efficient mills.
The sale is expected to be complete by early next month.
Moelndal's net annual fine paper production capacity with the current product range is around 80,000 metric tons (50,000 metric tons of multicoated fine paper and 30,000 metric tons of uncoated colored and white paper). The mill also has some 40,000 metric tons per year of board sheeting capacity.
