Stena Recycling A/S, based in Gothenburg, Sweden, has signed an agreement to acquire Uniscrap A/S’ Grenaa, Denmark facility. According to a Stena news release, the acquisition was completed on Oct. 1, 2011. With the acquisition, the Stena Recycling A/S Denmark subsidiary has 28 locations.
The Grenaa facility includes an auto shredder as part of its processing capacity.
“We believe that waste is an important resource and that recycling of waste will have a positive effect on our future society and environment,” says Lars Petersen, Stena Recycling’s CEO. “With the acquisition of Uniscrap in Grenaa, our role in the Danish market has been further consolidated and it has improved our ability to attract new customers.”
Stena Recycling, part of Stena Metall AB, is involved in processing scrap metal, paper, cardboard, plastic and obsolete electronics.
